Nokia Lumia 920 Cell Phones & Smartphones

由 edko1 提供January 25, 2017I bought a Lumia 920 at roughtly $750 when they first came out and loved it. The reason I purchased this one was because my original became broken.

The reason I purchased this one was to replace the original which had been dropped on concrete and landing on a corner one too many times. It has a highly functional off line mapping app, HERE Drive which I find to be more accurate than a dedicated GPS I purchased when I bought my new car in 2013. Operates on Windows 8.1 and works flawlessly with Windows 10.

The only drawbacks are that unless background programs like wi-fi and location services are turned off, it will drain the battery. It's heavier than most of the new high end phones being produced today, but what I value is the build quality of the pre-Microsoft Nokia phones, excellent call quality. At the price this vendor is selling for, I consider it to be outstanding value....Hey, think of it as an offline GPS that you can use as a telephone if you want to, but even without a SIM card, you can communicate on LINE, access Facebook, read and send email.

Plain and simple, an outstanding value if functionality is of paramount interest.

This is my 2nd 920 I had the first one for several years - I dropped on tile over a year ago and it continued to perform well. I use my phone as a phone plus and can do most anything on it that is comfortable on a good sized screen. It's light weight, fits well in almost any pocket. Pictures are extremely clear and I would say the camera is the main reason for not changing though I tried another that was a "droid" in Dec. and returned it. An occasional app that isn't programmed for Windows has not really been an issue. Battery life seems pretty standard - if I use the GPS it goes quickly but friends say theirs does on other operating systems. I can get a couple days but normally plug in at night to be fresh for the next day and I shut down apps not being used.

The Nokia 920 features Gorilla Glass which is very sturdy. The phone has a nice sized screen for great visibility. The camera takes great images and records respectable video as well. The speakers are easy to adjust and are plenty loud. The battery holds a charge well. The Windows features make the phone easy to sync to mail and utilize browsing features. I travel a lot and the GPS is a useful tool. There are many aps available and it is possible to print from the phone. It's like having an extension to your brain.

The case is really slick and it is easy to drop the phone unless you add one of the many available exterior cases that include some silicone for gripping. I was able to find a sturdy thin case with a built in screen protector at a very reasonable price.

PRO: Activated the unit and was good to go. Calls are very clear. Screen color and definition is great. Was surprised at the volume of external speakers, have to turn volume down if not a good distance from unit (bass is understandable weak). Once your preferences are set up the phone seamlessly rolls from function to function. I've had many complements of the sleek near artistic design of the case. Battery life is good enough for all but the heaviest users.

CON: Slightly heavy. Case is so smooth that it would be easy to let it slip away (Protective case is good investment). Usual problem with Windows phone, slight limit of available apps.

Biggest disappointment is that the 920 is NOT upgradeable to Win 10. However Win 8 works better on this unit than it did on any computer.

Take this review with a grain of salt. I have used Android phones for 8 years. This was my first experience with Windows phone. It took me quiet a while to get the contacts set up where I could use my phone contacts instead of Facebook. The phone is great for Facebook however you are unable to load videos. The camera quality is awesome so your photos are great. I used the phone for just under 3 weeks and have switched back to Android because of better selection of Apps. I have decided the phone will be a good backup if needed but will not be sufficient for everyday use for what I need

This phone is like a hand-held computer! The windows are fully customizable and everything is compatible with your PC running Windows 10. You can download or add One Note and be able to see documents that you have saved there from your computer. Takes great pictures and has really good battery life for a smart phone. The 32GB on-board memory is also a plenty for storing pictures, songs, games, etc but if you need more it also has an expandable memory slot. The phone does seem a little heavier than other smartphones but still a great buy.

I purchased this phone to serve as a music player. I was one of the few who liked Zune and the Zune device. Used it since it was first introduced. When Microsoft pulled the plug on it I was lost. I found my way again with this phone. Arrived quickly in incredibly wonderful cosmetic condition. It works perfectly. I signed up with Spotify and everything is as it should be again. With the 30 GB memory I can load music to my heart's content if i want. Very very satisfied!

The Nokia 920 arrived within a few days. It was the in the original box which contained the insert pamphlets and a charger. The phone was in great condition. The battery charge doesn't seem to last as long on it did on my Nokia 635 and I do get a few more dropped calls. However, I am happy with it overall and apprciate getting it at a good price. ( I have no idea what is meant by the "small form factor" asked about in the rating questions.

The Nokia 920 is an excellent device. It was made by the Finnish company Nokia and was followed by the lumia 1020 which has the 41 megapixel camera. The 920 has gorilla glass, polycarbonate housing, and elegant styling...the phone is classic and simply beautiful...it is a shame Microsoft bought the Nokia line and ended the innovations - the 920 is still a great phone in 2017 and has features and quality that make it one of the best windows phones available in 2017

im still getting use to it but i like it the hardest thiing im finding is loading some games from the playstoe because i also have an android but as i get use to it im sure it wil get easier plus downloading picture with out the cloud i do not like the cloud at all

The phone itself is great i just wish there were more cases and screen protecters for them
